Diving is how you start off your race. And starts are very important. Most swimmers haven’t mastered the art of the comeback when it comes to swimming. So before anything make sure you find a deep enough pool. If your pool isn’t deep and you are a beginner it could be very dangerous. You could hit your head which could lead to head trauma or drowning. It would be very sad if you messes up your life because your were being a big shot.

Now when you start off I would recommend getting use to the head first motion of diving. This might be a struggle at first since it is very unnatural. But after awhile you will get more comfortable with it and will be able to become a good diver. Now repetition is key. This won’t happen over night. You just have to keep on practicing. But once you figure out to go head first you will be in business!
Now you will want to start with easier versions of diving. I would start with just doing a gumdrop dive. This is where you sit at the edge of the pool and fall in holding a streamline. Then once you get that down go onto standing at the edge of the pool and falling in. And hold your streamline every time. And eventually you will get to doing regular dives. And i will explain how to become a great starter on my advanced tips on the how to start page.
